JDIN is preparing to move into a capital campaign, to rebuild after the destruction of Hurricane Harvey. Our new building will be elevated to eliminate any future flooding.
Just Do It Now is the main resource for those in the community, and in Wharton County. And this building will allow the organization to expand, re-instate services and add much needed programs and services to help those struggling to become self-sustaining. Our new building will also have many additional benefits to support the needs in the community. We hope you will join us and walk with us on this very exciting journey.
The main building will house administration offices, classrooms, dining area, kitchen, board room, library and other amenities. The renovated commercial kitten will allow JDIN to provide hot meals to those in need, students in the afterschool program, and senior citizens. Cooking classes will also be taught for parents to highlight preparing healthy and nutritional meals for their families.
There will be six classrooms, that will provide students a positive environment, tutoring for their homework, and mentoring during the afterschool program, as well as social and emotional learning, problem solving, social skills, etc. The classrooms will also be used for adult learning programs such as ESL, GED, social skills, job training, social and emotional skills, parenting classes, drug and alcohol prevention and much more.
Each of the classrooms can be adopted by businesses, churches, organizations or individuals. The classroom will be named after the adopter, and will have a plaque with the adopter's name, leaving a legacy for generations to honor.
The gym will be renovated with new heating and air conditioning, flooring, seating, equipment, and painting. The gym will not only be used for sports activities but will also serve as a community meeting place for special programs.
The gym will also be used for emergency housing during hurricanes or other natural disasters, for those in need of shelter.
The gym is also able to be adopted by a business, organization, or individual, and will be renamed after the adopter.
Just Do It Now is excited about our capital campaign, to not only get back to where the organization was before Hurricane Harvey and COVID-19, with all of the many programs and services offered, but to also to be able to once again open the doors to the community after COVID-19 lock down and having to limit programs and services. Just Do It Now is here to serve the community, to help those struggling with many of life's challenges, and we are ready and willing to get back to all of our work, to re-start most of our programs and services that have been limited due to recent events. We are here for the community and with our new building we will be able to have the space, and amenities, to meet the needs of Wharton County. This is an exciting time for JDIN, and we hope you will join us.
JDIN appreciates all donations, however the size, for with the community's support, all donations add up to success. For those interested in Adopting-A-Room, please click on that tab on the right-hand side for more information.
